On this sunny Friday in August, Cora and Tim got married in the beautiful old barn at Wick Farm, near Bath.
Cora put a lot of herself into this wedding. All the little touches were there; she and her friends made the beautiful Victoria sponge wedding cake, and cut out dozens of small cakes and brownies into hearts. Lots of little jam jars filled with flowers, and the bunting she sewed herself – all one hundred metres of it. And although the tears came, there was never such a joyous occasion.

I used this as an excuse to test out my new lens (Canon 85mm 1.2L for those who care).
After I get a new bit of equipment, I always start off with a feeling of guilt having spent such a large amount of money on something so small, but after seeing the results from its first test, I’m more than happy with my purchase 🙂
This weekend I got to cover the wedding of Sarah and Jon at the beautiful Orchardleigh House near Frome, Somerset.
It’s a huge stately home set in several hundred acres of park land and golf course; not that you could see it when I arrived in the thick fog, but as the morning progressed the sun made it’s way through until we were left with glorious sunshine and blue skies.
Sarah has the most vivid purple hair, to which the wedding colours were matched from the flowers to the table decorations. A wonderful day all round!
Last weekend, I had the pleasure of shooting the wedding of Polly and Ben at Thornbury Golf Club, just north of Bristol.
All week it had been raining heavily, so just in case I popped out and bought some nice umbrellas for the outside shots. Luckily they weren’t needed as as soon as the ceremony started, the clouds disappeared and the skies turned blue.
What a fantastic day!
